Get involved with Tara
There are many ways you can get involved with Tara. You can become a volunteer and give some of your valuable time to the boys at the Tara Boys home or spend some time with the children at Tara Tots. We have local and expat volunteers helping us help the children – it’s a great way to give back to the community while in Delhi.
Would you like to spend a few hours a week learning from some inspiring kids, whilst they learn from you and all have great fun in the process!?
We are looking for people of all ages, backfround and nationality to volunteer at Tara.
You could help out by being a tutor, taking the children on outings, friving them to various activities, doing some craftwork or storytelling.
Tutors Tutors are what we mostly need, in all subjects: English, hindi, Maths, Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Sport. We need tutors to teach at all levels from Kindergarten/Nursery to Class 12 and you will always be with a small group of students (2 to 4). No previous teaching experience is requried; more important is your enthusiasm, commitment and reliability, as well as your passion and desire to share learning.
Activities Do you enjoy doing crafts, sports or music? We are always looking for people who can help out once or twice a week to ensure children have opportunities to have a well rounded lifestyle. Perhaps you would like to help us take the children to the park, swimming, to the museum or to see a movie. There are many activities that we need help with and it’s a fun way to spend time with the chilren.
Assistance transporting children It coss a lot of money to run the children around to their various activities. If you have a suitable vehicle and can spare 2-3 hours a week then we would like to talk to you about assisting us getting the children to Judo, Yoga or to the library.
Join us in creating a safe family environment for the children to achieve their potential.
If you are interested in helping out in any of the above ways, please contact us via our website at this address: http://www.taraindia.org/p/contact-us.html
