Help make videos about leprosy, disabilities and Fair Trade
MESH is an Indian NGO based in Uday Park, New Delhi (about 15 minutes from the British High Commission).
Their primary work is trading for rehabilitation. Using the principles of Fair Trade they buy products from groups of people affected by leprosy or with disabilities, and market them nationally from their shop in Uday Park and by export across the world.
In order to do all that more effectively they provide design support and capacity building support for the groups they buy from who are located across India.
Their international buyers are always asking for stories and case studies and video clips or sound bytes to help their customers understand the lives of the people who make the products and how their work is affecting their lives.
They have a limited staff team and are seeking the help of volunteers to make video(s), about the producers, the crafts and the work of MESH that can be uploaded and viewed through links on their website or other social media sites.
A keen amateur with some previous experience might find this task fascinating as it will provide a look at crafts, the lives of people with leprosy or with disabilities and their homes and work places.
If there are any professional film makers with time to volunteer they would of course be most welcome!
